Yesterday afternoon we found ourselves in the midst of a winter wonderland, courtesy of Douglas Hannant. The designer invited us and a slew of other wedding industry insiders to The Plaza to check out his Fall 2011 bridal collection. Hannant, whose boutique is located inside the iconic hotel, took over The Edwardian Room and let it snow. For his first look Hannant put the bride in a tuxedo; the white crepe and silk look was a sleek and ironic take on wedding ware. More traditional gowns followed in silk, chiffon, and taffeta. Hannant’s ice princesses are feminine, frilly, and elegant; this season’s looks will work for a variety of wedding locales. Whether your headed down the aisle in a grand ballroom, chic city loft, or an Aspen chalet, these confections will make a glamorous statement. ~Nola Weinstein
