"Best $2K I Ever Spent!" Kelis' Album Release Party At RDV

Did you forget about RDV NYC? We know RDV East has been hogging the spotlight lately, but last week the original party spot held what can only be described as a bacchanal (though that might be to tame a word…) to prove its still in the game.-

Technically speaking, it was a party for Kelis' new album, which, if the 30 second Taxi TV spots are to be trusted, sounds pretty good. Anyway, the clips we've seen of her new music video have a total earth mother-y, groovy vibe, but her party was anything but. Let's just say, if Kelis' Milkshake brings all the boys to the yard, then her album release party brings all the binge drinkers to RDV. (Please forgive me for that joke?)

Also celebrating at RDV that night was "Roxy aka YA" (?), who turned another year older.

You may think that celebrating a birthday and an album release would take up a lot of the partiers' focus. Don't worry: they still made time for the important things. Like…

Piggyback rides! And facepainting!

Stretching!

Making out!

Making out with a different girl!

Making out with cake!

Playing leapfrog!

Pouring Tequila into someone else's mouth!

Pouring YOUR tequila into someone else's mouth!

Giving natural birth to a fully grown man-child in a water tub!

And most importantly, Emergency Disaster Drills!

MKG Flipped Our Work Week On Its Ass

Go HERE for more photos by SUNNY NORTON and tag yourself and your friends!

Jello shots, slap bracelets and board games is how MKG gets down in their new office in SoHo. If you thought you worked in a cool office, then you haven't seen this one! This is one party that will be hard for me to forget.

-

A sleek, modern space complete with a mini movie theater and game room, I mean, umm…conference room. Guests enjoyed grilled cheese cooked with an iron, lots of candy and the biggest soft pretzels you have ever seen! Attendees also entertained themselves in the photo booth and challenged one another to a memorable childhood board game.

Congratulations on your, frankly incredible new office space, MKG, but do you think your employees will ever want to get ANY work done? And more importantly…can we come hang out?

Star Wars Re-Enacted On The 6 Train

A day ago, in a 6 train not so far, far away, Princess Leia sat among everyday commuters, minding her own business, quietly reading "Galactic Rebellion For Dummies: How To Form An Alliance & Subvert The Status Quo", when a gang of storm troopers looking for trouble came onboard…-

It's all part of Improv Everywhere's latest project: to re-enact Star Wars on the 6 Train. Actors portraying Princess Leia and Darth Vadar recited dialogue from the movie while commuters laughed and took pictures. ("Darth Vader! Only you could be so bold!" Princess Leia admonishes when confronted with Vader. Was the dialougue always this schlocky?)

Sadly for Princess Leia, she pronounced a traitor and thrown off the subway, but man did those commuters just eat. it. up. Just goes to show, New York City is a mecca for geeks. (In a good way.)

Judith Leiber's Haiti Pendant Initiative: Dancing the Night Away

Go HERE for more photos by Donald Lee and tag yourself and your friends!

Last night, Judith Leiber hosted an event with Maria Bello at the Judith Leiber's store in the Upper East Side. Together, the women commemorated the six month anniversary of the earthquake and also launched their Haiti pendant initiative. All of the profits earned went to the Haitian Chapter of Vital Voices called Femmes En Democratie. Creole cuisine, cocktails, and celebrating were enjoyed by all guest including Zoe Lister-Jones and "Gossip Girl's" Kelly Rutherford.

Although Haiti's Earthquake was a tragic event, the money raised for the good cause made people let loose and have a good time. Everyone was in good spirits and dancing the night away. The Don't Forget pendant aligned with a event and night that people wouldn't forget.
