The day before Halloween, celebrate three films that explore the creepy side of romantic relationships. We start with NOTES ON A SCANDAL, starring Judi Dench and Cate Blanchett in the story of a schoolteacher that's caught being inappropriate with a young student - only to be blackmailed to keep this fact a secret. Then, we close out our month-long ode to Stanley Kubrick starting at 7:15P with the Sundance Channel premiere of LOLITA, a proper name that now doubles as a description. At 10P, Kubrick's final film EYES WIDE SHUT provides an enigmatic coda on the evening, as a New York power couple struggles through their dysfunctional (and occasionally bizarre) marriage.
