Want to get a sneak peak of next year's fashion? Take a look at our selection of spring 2012 coverage direct from the world's best catwalks in Fashionising.com's dedicated fashion week channel.
Each decade of the 20th century is prone to being defined by its fashions; and for each of those decades is a cycle of revival inevitable. Some decades are revived in distinctive fits and starts, like the 80s returning in a burst of irony that made good on its promise; others, like the 60s, linger never too far out of reach. So while tousling up your sexiest bed hair and pulling on your teeniest mini may always be an option there's no better time than 2011 and 2012 to inject even more of that swinging 60s vibe into your wardrobe. Read on to find out more.
Sometimes revealing but more often used as an alluring and highlighting accent, sheer has become something of an ever green fashion trend. That's something of a achievement given that when we first featured the statement look on Fashionising.com the general response was that it was impractical and that most women wouldn't dare to wear it. But times have changed, and sheer not only remains on-trend but is also one of the statements to make amongst autumn / fall 2011's fashions and, we suspect, again in 2012's fashions. After the break we'll take you through this key women's trend, showing you how it's being worn and giving you tips on how to wear it yourself, and highlighting who's designing it and where you can buy it.
For fashionisers in the Southern Hemisphere: A lot of attention is paid to the clothes and accessories that are must-have for the new season, but what of those other important statements - the make up that really turns heads. Delve into our guide for spring / summer 2011 lipstick to find out what the shades of the season are, and how you can wear them.

How to rock a sheer top like a supermodel
Prints and colours aren't always a requirement of standing out: you can be the most eye-catching in all black, too. That's today's lesson from
Natasha Poly. And while, granted, it certainly helps if you're a supermodel, this type of outfit would do wonders on many a figure type. The key to rocking a
sheer top with all the impact of a hurricane? The right lingerie. Natasha's is delicate, not vampish, while the length of the pencil skirt balances out the display of skin on top.

The sensual side of Sasha
Is a reinvention is on the cards for
Sasha Pivovarova? It was about six years ago now that Sasha stepped onto the scene and into the shadow left by Gemma Ward. Or maybe it's better put that at the time wide-eyed, unconventional beauty was trending a path paved largely by Gemma, and there, all of a sudden, was Sasha. Let's not forget that models have trend cycles, too. And for models, as trends move, reinvention is required. A model can define an era with her hairstyle or with her figure shape or some other quality, just as an era defines them. Kate Moss went from natural beauty to pixie-cropped gamine to blonde sex bomb (along with innumerous other reinventions in-between) throughout her career. The phoenix survives the longest in the fashion world.

Arizona lights up the city
When Marilyn Monroe sang, "
Diamonds are a girl's best friend", I bet she wasn't aware of the veracity it encompassed. Not just diamonds, even emerald, ruby, topaz and pearls make a girl weak in the knees. And this
Arizona Muse editorial is a testimony to it. On being enamoured by jewels, as classy and elegant a woman is meant to look from the outside, there's always an inescapable burst of childish joy inside of her. And that sentiment is portrayed in the October issue of Vogue Paris. Muse's vintage curls and rosy lips secure her scarlet damsel image, but the ornate jewellery is the real hero. Pearl-drop earrings, diamond chokers, statement cocktail rings, mosaic-designed bracelets, every girl's dream jewellery box is right here, in these shots.

Lying in the golden fields of rye
There is something captivating about the editorial
The Nature of Things featured in the September issue of Marie Claire Russia. Maybe it is the hidden concept of
The Catcher in the Rye, a book about growing up but still seeking innate childlike innocence; perhaps it's the lush depiction of the
fur trend exposed in the key looks of the fall season antithetically living in symbiosis with the rustic surroundings; or maybe it's a slight chic reference to
60s vibes that pay my attention so intensively.

Models rap to Jay-Z: weekend watch
It doesn't quite rival the burst of freshness that was Victoria's Secret models lip-synching to
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun - but this Justin Wu video still snares you with it's cute factor. With
New York as the backdrop your favourite models rap to Jay-Z's
Empire State of Mind, an upbeat anthem at the best of times that's amplified by the personalities shining through the likes of Karlie Kloss, Jourdan Dunn, Hailey Clauson and Constance Jablonski.

Parisienne chic with Magdalena
When you think
Parisienne chic there are a few cliches attached. A palette of black and white is certainly one of them, as is an undercurrent of effortless glamour. Vogue Paris' October issue dedicates an editorial to precisely that aesthetic and it's a veritable overdose of pearl strands and Chanel's recognisable double 'C' logo. It doesn't feel like there's enough that's new about Geraldine Saglio's styling, except where perhaps a
solid gold collar adds a modern update to an otherwise all-black ensemble.
Magdalena Frackowiak's ability to wear blushing pink cheeks and velvet ribbons with as much innocence as a prowling tigress also makes the editorial worth a peek.

Burberry's message of quality
When it comes to building a
curated wardrobe we recommend that its pieces are made up of a mix of high-to-low cost items. While luxury always has a lustre, it is never solely about a price tag. However, it is about quality. Luxury fashion is always
quality fashion, yet somewhere along the way the vast majority of us forgot this. We forwent an understanding of what truly makes for quality and instead relied upon the price tag and label alike to communicate the craftsmanship of an item. Yet as many of us have slowly come to realise, price tag and label can be an illusion. Thus for the person
really into fashion, one with a deep appreciation of style, there comes the need for understanding. As consumers we are increasingly demanding to know why one product, whether it's a handbag or a suit, is better than another. Yet look over the
spring 2012 fashion collections currently storming the catwalks and you'll see there's much hype over cut and colour, but little to be said about the craft that went into creating each piece. And that's a crying shame, after all it's now that we're all excitedly consuming photos and indulging in reviews of the new collections - lots give us hints as to cloth, but few give us real insight into the quality. One label obviously approached the season differently.

Inside a curated wardrobe
It's hard to peek inside a wardrobe so well organised and not only contemplate how
considered every purchase must have been, but also that you're privy to a peak inside a

Karlie Kloss undresses. Testino unimpresses.
I haven't come away from an encounter with Karlie Kloss without being somewhat gobsmacked by her beauty - whether it was encountering her on a train between Paris and London or watching her dominate the catwalks of New York Fashion week, Kloss has never once failed to leave an impression. But where other models of her calibre might radiate cool confidence or knowing sexuality, Kloss radiates classic beauty - she's the Grace Kelly for the current generation.
Which is why her photo shoot for Allure's October 2011 issue surprises me.
We're certainly no wallflowers to fashion and nudity (even when it's only implied) at Fashionising.com, in fact we're oft accused of being precisely the opposite. But that we'd see an exploration of the form involving Kloss caught me off guard.
