If you're a regular Refinery reader, you know that we go a little gaga over Lady Gaga. While we were definitely not fans of her meat dress (especially when we saw it during our lunch hour), we've got to give her props for her homemade PSA. In the 7 minute Youtube video, the singer asks her fans to call their local senators in the hopes of repealing of 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell,' (DADT) the military's controversial policy regarding gays and lesbians in the armed forces. Says Gaga: '14,000 Americans have been discharged from the armed forces, refused the right to serve their country and sent home regardless of honorable service or how valuable they may have been to their units.' The senate will vote to repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell, Tuesday, September 21. While politics and celebrities don't always mix so well (hello Wyclef Jean), in this case Gaga gets our vote.
