What Would She Wear: Kristen Stewart

.

Best—yet not only—known as Bella Swan in the cultural phenomenon that is the Twilight series, Kristen Stewart is riding the crest of a seriously illustrious career. From her first role in The Thirteenth Year at the age of eight, her on-screen appearances have grown exponentially in credit and number, including title roles in indie cult films like In the Land of Women and Adventureland, as well as Sundance headliner The Runaways, for which she was heavily lauded for portraying the iconic Joan Jett. Yet while her star power has the film community thirsty for more, today it's time to focus on her personal style. Unlike other rising stars who sometimes bite off more than they can chew when it comes to trying out trends and runway looks, Stewart stays true to her tomboy aesthetic in her off-duty attire, often opting for jeans and a field jacket, or appearing on the red-carpet in signature tough-girl pieces like leather jackets and edgy LBDs. Accordingly, we've rounded up a number of items we feel can help capture Stewart's staunchly independent style while keeping those blood-sucking fashion critics at bay. So without further ado, sink your teeth into today's picks and watch as you eclipse all the stylish competition!

1. Ray-Ban Large Wayfarer Acetate Sunglasses ($195)
Part of Kristen Stewart's laid-back cool that everyone's eager to emulate is her no frills approach to dressing. Accordingly, we'd see her in a pair of classic Ray-Ban wayfarers. These iconic shades never go out of style, and even got a mini-upgrade with a larger frame shape that is right on-trend for summer!

2. Pour La Victoire Sade Bag ($495)
Pour La Victoire has always been one of our go-to footwear brands, we adore their amazing studded sandals and of-the-moment heels, so were thrilled to learn they're launching a handbag line just in time for fall. The Sade Bag is one of their thirteen debut styles and would make for a fitting upgrade from our style subject's usual backpack carry-all. The bucket shape is large enough to carry everything you need—even if you're not running from vampires-on-the-go—while the mix of black leather and silver chain has a rebel spirit of which we know Stewart would approve.

3. Dezso Mexican Bracelets ($115 each)
The second we saw Sara Beltran's darling jewelry line, we knew we couldn't live without her beachy pieces. Her colorful bracelets look like exotic souvenirs picked on a warm-weather vacation, while her use of hand-picked shells, raw stones, and fossilized sharks teeth makes them surprisingly precious and luxurious. We'd recommend layering them on to add colorful intrigue to your neutral basics, giving your ensemble an air of globetrotting chic.

4. Redken Wax Blast 10 ($14.50)
While we love waxes for that cultivated dirty hair look favored by some of our favorite, more insouciant stylesetters (think Agyness Deyn pre-shaved head), sometimes it can feel too heavy and weigh our locks down, forcing us to sacrifice volume. Luckily, one of our favorite purveyors of hair products, Redken, is releasing their wax blast spray this July, which offers a similar finish with a more lightweight feel—so you can easily recreate Stewart's tough-girl, tousled beauty look.

5. AE Skinny Denim Bermuda Shorts ($39.50)
Stewart is definitely a girl who loves her denim, and these dark bermuda shorts have a rockabilly vibe that easily aligns itself with her edgy persona. Not only are these clam diggers too cool for school, they're also surprisingly functional thanks to the longer hemline. Pair them with a shredded tee and studded sandals for a Balmain-inspired warm-weather look or throw on a bohemian top and neutral sandals for an outdoor bike ride or hike!

6. Chuck Taylor All Star Sparkle Shoes ($55) in Black
Unlike some of our favorite stylesetters who have an unquenchable lust for Louboutins, what stands out about Stewart is that she often opts for sneakers or flats. Yet, occasionally she does give a sneak peek of a girlier side, so we thought these sparkly Chuck Taylors were a spot-on mix of her boy-meets-girl attitude. Use them to perk up your airport layers or pair them with rolled khakis for a glitzy touch.

7. Rescue Beauty Nail Polish ($18) in No More War
Bringing in an of-the-moment beauty element is a great way to dip your toe in a trend without feeling like you're drowning in it! Accordingly, this army-green polish allows you to test the waters of the military trends that have taken the fashion world by storm—and are definitely here to stay for fall—as well as offering a nice alternative to taupe when opting for a neutral nail.

8. Simone by Katie Nehra Ripped Grey Eagle Tee ($121)
We're big fans of Simone by Katie Nehra's sexy F/W 10 line that include racy lace dresses, superb studded leather jackets, and this super-soft Balmain-inspired shredded tee. In addition to looking spot-on with dark denim shorts, you can style it with leather pants or skinny cargos for a seriously chic, directional look.—Liza Kaplan
