Posted: 17 Jun 2010 08:14 AM PDT
I love to grill out and my family grills quite frequently during the summer. Sometimes we try new recipes; sometimes we simply throw a burger on the grill and eat. But I'm always looking for great ways to dress up a hamburger. Keep reading for some of my favorite recipes for summer grilling.

Grill onions for 8 to 10 minutes, using a skewer or aluminum foil. Grill steak for 8 to 10 minutes, turning once. Toss onions with reserved sauce and serve meat and onion on buns you have grilled.

Another easy and good way to enhance your BBQ is grilled peppers. Coat the entire, whole bell pepper with olive oil. Grill, turning on all sides, until blackened and slightly blistered. Place in a bowl and cover in plastic wrap for 15 minutes. When cool, discard skin and remove stem and seeds.

The Bafta's are about pure glamour, which leaves the Grammys as the perfect opportunity for celebrities to show off their edgy style and really make a claim to the best-dressed lists. So, it's the perfect place to pick your next look from! Whether you want a complete change or just to pick out some key elements, you can be sure that the Grammys will demonstrate the up and coming trends, and here are the top 7 Grammy looks you can (and should!) steal!

1. Rock – Glam

Rock – Glam
I love this dress! From the great shape it gives to her body – being tight fitting but flattering too – and it's strapless too, which is right on trend. It's the gorgeous fish tail bottom that steals the show, though, mixing beige and black netting… if you want to steal this look, team luxury and shiny fabrics with flattering fits and an exaggerated yet gorgeous feature. Keep your hair and makeup sexy yet minimal, and practice sultry eyes! Gorgeous.

2. Monochrome

Monochrome
Jennifer Hudson made an excellent choice when she chose this edgy monochrome look, which is so on trend and really flatters her figure. The silver middle gives her a slim illusion, while the black skirt lengthens her legs and the white top gives her a curvy and sexy look… teamed with black heels and simple jewellery, she looks divine. Steal the look by teaming monochrome colours with a silver belt, and keeping your hair and make up simple yet elegant. Wow.

3. Demure Chic

It was strange to spot Katy Perry in something I'd love to wear, but this delicate pastel pink number is a huge hit in my book! Teamed with her retro hair style, and silky detailing, Katy looks slim, elegant and happy. I'm off to hunt out some elegant pieces in gentle pastel colours… I can't wait to channel Katy!

Think of feminism. What are you picturing? Bras on fire, and women shouting that they don't need a man? Well a lot has changed since the 1970's, but the principles are still the same, and whether you want to a successful career or to be a stay at home mum, that's your choice. The fight isn't really over, though, as sexism sneaks back even slyer than before. So it's time to raise the flag for women, and make our new rules of feminism!

1. We Don't Need Men

Part of feminism is acceptance, so why are women who choose to be single still looked down on? This is an issue that's particularly close to my heart. I recently met up with a best friend from school, who I hadn't seen in a few years. Last time I saw her, she was happily married, and excitedly planning her life with her man. Now, she's divorced, and not at all interested in men. "I still look, and I still enjoy men's company. As for getting emotionally involved? It wouldn't be fair. I'm not ready, and I'm not healed. I'm happy just being me." So why can't other women accept that? From her mum to her friends, everyone is questioning her, and constantly setting her up on dates. Why? We still can't see a world where a woman can choose not to have a man. "A woman need a man like a fish needs a bicycle"… I think they got it right. Men are lovely, and I wouldn't give mine up for the world, but the women who do? Kudos to them.

2. No Violence

Domestic violence is a still a very real problem, and whether the victim is male or female, it's not something we should be putting up with. So, it's another new rule of feminism. Know how much you are worth, and don't let anyone question it. Don't let anyone make you feel worthless, and don't let anyone assault you. It's easier said than done, but it's also easier to walk away the first time. Have an emergency plan, someone to call and somewhere to go, and don't think twice. It doesn't matter how sorry he is, or how he promises they'll never do it again. You are worth more.

3. Friendship

Women have enough on their plate, without other women making their life harder. Do you remember at school and college, how when you had an argument with someone, someone would always tell you that you'd grow out of it, it'd blow over, and it doesn't happen in the real world? Well, that same behaviour is alive and kicking in the big girls world, too. The pretty girl studying health and beauty? Well, you could dislike her on principle, or you could befriend her, and have someone with great advice, and great make up! Jealousy is a big problem… rather than hating the person, utilize their knowledge of whatever it is you are jealous of. It'll make you a better person.

Use it or lose it, they say. How true this is of the brain! We work out our bodies, but forget about the mind. So to help stave off the slippery slope into senility, here´s some great ways to exercise your mind.

1. Learn a language

If that doesn't stretch your brain, nothing will.

2. Play word games

Games,  such as Scrabble or crosswords, are great. Even if you can't complete it, you will expand your vocabulary.

3. Watch quiz shows

You're bound to learn some new facts, and you never know when they'll come in useful! Why not take part in a quiz night yourself, and work that memory.

1. Feathered and Sophisticated

Classy Classic Costume. Those are three C words that I’m sure you’ll describe these feather pieces by Kenneth Jay Lane.

2.  Bling ‘N Boot

In other words, bling accessories for your boots.  This way, you won’t have to buy a new pair every time a new trend in boots design come out.

3. Brad, Angelina, and the Serpent

Bran and Angelina have designed a jewelry collection [top image is a sample] with Asprey. Proceeds will be for children of conflict. Methinks Angelina was inspired by her Kung Fu Panda character.

4. Laser Cut = Laser Cute

Susie Bubble sure knows her accessories. These laser cut pieces that she is raving about are truly wonderful. They are by Stolen Thunder.

5. Gypsy on a Fancy Day

Even if you love Gypsy fashion and lifestyle, you have to admit that  your life is not an all-around carefree ride. For days when you need to be formal and fancy, Twisted Silver pieces are perfect company.
