WWW Hearts: May Obsessions

.
We've always heard that you can tell a lot about a person by their hobbies, but when it comes to us, you're better off examining the things we're excited about. Think of it as insight via ever-changing obsessions; the things we love directly reflect our state of mind. So what are we currently mooning over and what do those fixations mean? Regarding the former, we can't stop thinking about things like a smart new line of sunglasses, three perfect polishes, and a quartet of killer bags created by personal-style blogger stars for Coach. As for the latter, well, you'll just have to wonder...

Skova Jewelry Design African Kudo Necklace ($142)
Since summer dressing typically requires an absence of layers, it's the perfect time to amp up your jewelry. We can think of no better way to do just that than with this statement piece from Skova. It's an ideal accessory option because it lets you incorporate a little of-the-moment toughness into your repertoire without spending tons of money. Plus, it looks amazing when worn with other metals, so feel free to mix it in with other pieces.

Chanel Le Vernis Nail Color ($23 each) in Nouvelle Vague, Rivera, and Mistral
While we're pedicure devotees year-round, when the weather warms up, suddenly finding the perfect polish gets upgraded from a semi-important task to a wildly compelling one. In times like these, we always turn to the fashion and beauty gurus at Chanel for direction and they haven't failed us yet. Their summer collection is particularly fetching, especially the minty turquoise hue of Nouvelle Vague.

Zimmermann Thorn Lattice Triangle Bikini ($220)
Zimmermann is one of the best Australian exports out there and the brand's invariably strong swimwear collection never fails to impress. They always turn out runway-ready styles and are our go-to resource for cool silhouettes and unique prints. But don't take our word for it: check out the Zimmermann sections on Shopbop and Net-A-Porter to see all of the line's in-stock options.

Kiehl's Super Fluid UV Defense SPF 50+ ($32)
Fast-drying, non-greasy, ultra-light liquid sunscreen is the big thing in the world of sun protection, but Kiehl's new Super Fluid UV Defense isn't just on-trend, it's also amazing. In addition to protecting against both UVA and UVB rays, it's oil-free, water-resistant, and the formula is so fab Katherine says it makes her "actually excited to put on sunscreen." Woah! Apply it after your moisturizer (or instead of, if you prefer) and before your makeup for daily defense against the rays!

Coach Blogger Bags ($398-$498)
The brilliant team at Coach enlisted four personal-style bloggers to each create their own limited-edition must-have bag and the results are truly tremendous. What Is Reality Anyway's Krystal Simpson dreamed up a fabulous Fringe Shoulder Bag ($498), while The Glamourai's Kelly Framel designed a putty faux croc Drawstring Pouch ($398) that's just darling. Karla Deras of Karla's Closet went for an Oversized Clutch ($398) with a detachable strap, while Emily Schuman of Cupcakes and Cashmere came up with a sophisticated Satchel ($498) in pale pink leather. Support this top-notch effort and pre-order your favorites now—they're scheduled to ship on June 2nd—otherwise you can buy directly on that date on Coach's site. New York City readers, if you're in the city on June 8th, Coach is hosting an event at their 595 Madison Avenue location from 5-7 p.m. with all four ladies. Stop by to shop and meet Emily, Karla, Kelly, and Krystal in person!

Freeway Sunglasses ($100, 310.274.8800)
There's never a shortage of new brands in the ultra-competitive eyewear market, but only one collection made it on our radar this season: Freeway. Designed by artist Alex Israel, the LA-based line is comprised of six perfectly executed styles, most of which are named after the city's key thoroughfares. We shot the 405s (in glossy black frames with dark lenses) and the 15s (in glossy gray with mirrored lenses) for today's story, but we highly suggest checking out all the frames. They're affordable, understated, and deeply cool—just what sunglasses should be.

Equipment Signature Washed Silk Blouse ($178)
Of all the many borrowed-from-the-boys button-ups available right now, Equipment's version is definitely at the very tippy top of our list. The fit is truly flattering on a wide range of frames, while the washed silk offers a feminine counterpoint to the menswear-inspired shape.

Jeffrey Campbell Foxy Platforms ($145) in Caramel
We've been smitten with Sophia Amoruso's cult boutique Nasty Gal for years and definitely adore her buying taste. Unsurprisingly, we were flat out elated to find these knockout platforms by footwear powerhouse Jeffrey Campbell on her site. They're also available in black, but the caramel color is exclusive to her online shop, so pick them up asap. We have a feeling we're not the only ones who think these leather and wood t-strap heels are a must buy!

The Selby Is In Your Place by Todd Selby ($23)
As long-time subscribers to photographer Todd Selby's home-design blog, The Selby, and huge fans of his work (including Cole Haan's current killer campaign), we are super excited about his first book. The Selby Is In Your Place is like a personal-space version of The Sartorialist and includes previously unseen shots from the likes of Karl Lagerfeld, Lou Doillion, and Christian Louboutin. It's a must-buy and makes a great hostess gift, so pick up a few copies today!
