Fact: there are few events quite as chic as the International Festival de Cannes. Every year, this twelve-day fête-for-film on the French Riviera turns the famed city from a coveted tache de vacances to a see-and-be-seen destination for industry types and style stars alike. Led by cult-favorite filmmaker Tim Burton, who is serving as the president of this year's jury, the 63rd installment of this prestigious fest proved no exception to its storied expectations and, more importantly, no etrangère du mode. Teeming with the crème de la crème of stylish ladies—everyone from Rachel Bilson to Marion Cotillard—all the photos from Cannes had us wishing we were sipping Veuve into the wee-hours at Jimmy'z or dining on oysters poolside at the Hotel du Cap.
Yet, while the magic of the Mediterranean is undeniably enticing, it is these six attendees' way with warm-weather style that has true allure. Whether they were snapped en route to a daily screening or at star-studded soirees, these women deftly display how to dress for a range of summertime events. Take, for example, supermodel Liya Kebede, whose lovely peach frock and strappy sandals (both Fendi) could easily inspire an outfit for a daytime shower, or Julia Restoin Roitfeld's ruffled and lace Emilio de la Morena Titan Dress, which would be a spot-on selection for a warm-weather cocktail event. Additionally, Michelle Williams' sweet floral Suno Fitted Bodice Mini Dress would be an excellent pick for a lovely summertime date, while Charlotte Gainsbourg proves black pants look parfait when balanced with Balenciaga's light-colored double breasted jacket and open-toe ankle boots. We love the way these ladies' looks can be easily translated from the carpet rouge to your real-life needs, plus, they remind us that a simple outfit with minimal accessories can add up to a whole lot of je ne said quoi. And now without further ado, we bring you the six stylesetters who've garnered our sartorial Palm D'Ors with their fabulous festival best!—Liza Kaplan
