Today's Obsessions

I love Twitter. It's a great way to keep in touch with friends and family in a hurry, and to read about new promotions. Recently, there have even been Twitter-based competitions, when retweeting a company’s promotional message could win you cool prizes such as an iPhone! It's super easy to use, too. The best part, though? That has to be the celebrities. From hilarious to plain weird, there have been some classic celebrity tweets…

1. Kourtney Kardashian

"Do ants have dicks?"
I can't quite work out what Kourtney must have been thinking or doing to inspire this tweet, but it did make me laugh. A lot. Although I'm not sure I want to know the answer…

2. Olivia Wade

"I think my dog may be trying to slowly poison me with her ass gas. I'm afraid to sleep."
This tweet made me laugh so much! It's great to know that Olivia has a great sense of humour as well as a pretty face!

3. Jimmy Fallon

"The Playboy channel accidently aired on two kids networks. Kids were shocked to discover how much 'exploring' Dora was into."
I'll be honest, I didn't think anything could make the Playboy-Kids chaos funny. I was wrong, this tweet made me laugh so hard I cried. Poor Dora…

Every parent could write a book about the funny things their kids say. They really do come out with some crackers, don't they? Here are some I've collected from friends and family.

1. About Mom …

'Mummy! You're going to burst!' Said by my nephew aged 3, to my heavily pregnant sister.

2. About pins …

3. About nanny …

'I took flowers to my nanny'.
'Ah, that's nice'.
'Yes, nanny was in a box, and we put them on the box'. Okaaaaaay ……

So you're a ballet flats and flip-flops kind of girl. Or maybe you LIVE in your Chuck Taylors. But your BFF just called and needs you to stand up in her wedding, and that requires, *gasp*, HEELS! Calm down. There is nothing to be afraid of. Read on to find out how you can successfully walk down the aisle or down the street without hurting yourself, and look good while you do it.

1. Start with Good Posture

As with any project you need to start with a good foundation. One of the keys to walking in high heels is good, strong, solid posture. Make sure your body is relaxed and your arms are loose and at your sides since they will help you balance as you walk. You should be standing up straight, your head high and your feet facing forward.

2. Get Good well fitting Shoes

I don't care how cute those shoes look on you, if they don't fit right you are going to look more like Bambi on ice rather than Beyonce at the Grammy's. Start off slow with a moderately sized heel (1-2 inches) and then as you grow accustomed to them, up the size. Try to break your shoes in BEFORE you have to wear them, let’s say on a date, that way they are better fitted to your feet and you don't wind up with blisters at the end of your night. Try to shop for shoes in the evening when your feet at at their biggest from being on them all day. Remember that you can always make your shoes smaller, but you can’t EVER make your feet smaller.

3. Make sure they have all the fixings

Your shoes a bit loose? Purchase padding for the inside heel and pad of your shoe, that will help them fit better. Soles a bit slippery? You can buy sole grippers at your local shoe store that will add the perfect amount of traction right where you need it. You should also consider buying gel insoles for a little extra boost to your heels comfort level.

April showers bring May flowers, but that does not always mean that you and your children have to get cabin fever! Don't let a small drizzle bring your parade down. Whether it is raining cats and dogs or barely drizzling, I like to make the most out of any type of wet day. I am not talking about staying inside and reading a book, writing, watching movies or playing video games. As long as there is no lightning, why not consider these outdoor activities that have been designed especially for those boring rainy days?

8. Go outside and play!

Adults have a tendency to discourage children from jumping in mud puddles. Youngsters are going to be excited and surprised when you start a splash contest! Grab those rain boots and raincoats and see who can make the biggest splash of water.

7. Color on yourselves

Put those bathing suits on, then color all over yourselves with some bathtub crayons or something that easily washes off. Draw funny faces or write messages. Go wild with this! Then go out into the rain and wash yourselves out. Think of it as nature's shower.

6. Wet and Wild Race!

Don't let the drizzle keep you cooped up in your home. Use some waterproof toys and create the best obstacle course for a fun race with the family. Split up into teams. If there are only two of you, then compete against one another. Now that would make for a fun family night, no?

When it comes to rings, I like them BIG. A ring the size of a football certainly makes a statement (and doubles as a useful weapon should anyone hassle you with horrible pick up lines). If you like your bling, here are some eye-catching rings that I've picked out for you.

1. Meg’s 14k Gold Cocktail Ring

1
Price: $99 at emitations.com
A cocktail ring for a lovely cocktail dress. Not only bling, but coloured bling, this amber number is yours for just $99. You will need no other jewelry if you wear it (you probably won't be able to stand any more weight …)

2. Sterling Silver Agate Slice Ring

2
Price: $109 at tibetshining.com
This ring qualifies as bling by the sheer, enormous size of it. In fact, it could double as a dinner plate. It is so large, it could also, possibly blot out the sun. That doesn’t mean you should skip the sunscreen though.

3. Sterling Silver Ring – Shiny Cross

3Price: 39 EUR at iced-out.biz
Even the religious minded can get in on the act. This silver cross, gorgeous ring would make any vicar look trendy … I think.

The Cannes Film Festival came and went and as expected, we had a fair share of black and dark gray dresses to gawk at. I have here a list of lovely ladies who looked amazing in either charcoal or black at some of the events at Cannes. The colors may not be too exciting but you can’t deny the fact that they suit glitzy events really well.

1. Vanessa Paradis

1
Vanessa is one of those celebrities who clean up nicely. You know, there are a gazillion photos of her looking worse for wear but she can transform into one hot momma rather easily. I like that she doesn’t care about the paparazzi taking photos of her when she’s just running some errands but I also like the fact that she is still red carpet bewitching.

2. Jennifer Hudson

2
Hers is a Hollywood story that truly inspires. She is proof that if you work hard and believe in yourself, you will someday hobnob with stylin’ and popular people in Cannes. I don’t know how her movie did in Cannes but I do know that I love this outfit. Anyone who looks glam in flat shoes is a winner in my book.

3. Marion Cotillard

3
Marion is, without a doubt, a beauty. She can pull off anything. Well, almost, as this jumpsuit seem to look a tad strange. Still, kudos to her for opting for something unique. Additional kudos for having a body that looks THAT amazing in a jumpsuit with a tapered bottom.

Forget all about muscled pecs, six-pack abs, C-cups or tiny waists. Both men and women have a particular body part which makes a member of the opposite sex more attractive to them.
But let’s take a look at what men and women perceive to be the perfect set of gams.

According to an article from WomenDiary.net:
…women and men differ in what they view as the perfect female leg. Men look for shapely, solid thighs and chunky calves, but women see thin and lean as more attractive.
Dr Aric Sigman, who conducted the study, said: "For men, the ideal leg is shapely, full and smooth with a semi-gloss sheen. Women want the same thing – only two sizes smaller."
So here’s the list of the best set of stems that you can find in celebs. Taking into consideration the fact that both sexes have a different set of standards when it comes to what makes the perfect legs, we divided the list into two:

Men’s Top List:

1. Jennifer Aniston

She may not be playing Rachel Greene anymore, but men think that Jennifer Aniston’s legs are the ultimate set of gams that they can lay their eyes on. From the Braun study, Jen seemed to have a lot of male “Friends” who gave her high marks for having ideal proportions and silky skin.
