Today's Obsessions

It’s time to put aside the hairspray, curling iron, lipstick, eyeshadow and beautiful dresses (only for a little while though), because we just have to have some fun! We all like to play video games from time to time, but what should we play? Video games have advanced over the past two decades, and there have been some interesting games. When it comes to playing video games, I know the best to play for any type of person, whether it is a puzzle game or even a family game. I really enjoyed these 8 must have video games that I’m about to present to you…

8. Battlefield Bad Company 2

This game came out about a month ago and I really enjoyed the new features that it was bringing along with it. The game can be played online over XBOX Live, or single player campaign. This time, Battlefield brings you interesting perks, like unlocking weapons and gadgets through a level point system. When I started playing this game, I couldn’t put it down, and I still have not unlocked all the perks and weapons. The game is well balanced in each kit and provides you another great battlefield game.

7. Final Fantasy 13

I have always been a Final Fantasy fan and when number 13 came out, I was happy with the game play. Over eighty hours of game play and plenty of side quests. What can go wrong? With the old style random battle AT system, coming back to the game surprised me. The switching of characters also brought an interesting switch to the story.

6. God Of War 3

Do you like action packed games with tons of gore and neat combat moves? Well I insist this game is for you! Kratos comes back with vengeance against the Olympic gods and he is coming for Zeus. Through the game, you defeat some of the neatest creatures out of the books of Greek mythology. As you progress through each level, you find new weapons and techniques. Many non-stop levels with action every turning corner.

He loves me, he loves me not. He loves me, he loves me not. How do you keep your man interested and impressed with everything you do. How about 7 quick tips to keep your honey on his toes?

1. Make yourself beautiful

Don't walk around in his presence with rollers in your hair, mud masks on your face, and baggy t-shirts spotted with stains. Be beautiful! Wear something nice. Brush your hair and of course, don’t forget a flirty perfume. Especially when he comes home from work! Make a good impression and he'll keep coming home from work, just to see you, and not the boys, or ladies, from work!

2. Wear sexy lingerie

Buy and wear sexy lingerie every day… you’ll feel sexier, and he’ll love how it looks… enough said!

3. Send sexy love notes…

Leave cute and naughty love notes in his lunch, briefcase, toolbox, glove box, slip one in the book he's reading. Tell him how much you love him, need him, want him…

Reading is one of the most basic skills a child learns as part of their early education, and it's so important as they continue to grow. Some children take to it like ducks to water, but some may need a little encouragement. There are many ways to encourage your children to be life-long readers, from reading to them from the day they're old enough to sit on your lap, to letting them choose the books they want to read . Here's my list of the best eight ways to encourage your little ones to read…

1. Start young

Is there anything sweeter than holding your sleepy baby on your lap and reading "Goodnight Moon"? Ask any parent and they'll tell you those are some of their best memories. But it's also the best way to encourage your child to be a reader when she gets older. The younger you start reading to them, the better the chance they'll want to read as they grow up!

2. Let them see you read

Often time, children learn to do by seeing what their parents do, so one of the best, most effective ways to encourage your children to read is to let them see you enjoying books. As they get older, they can join you on the couch with their own books, and it can be a family fun night!

3. Let them choose books

Remember when you discovered your favorite books as a tween? Why not give your child the same magical experience. This will become especially important as your children grow older. If you want to encourage your children to read, make it part of their overall learning experience as part of something they're interested in. If she's into "Charlie and Lola," then help her find book with those characters. If your little man is into dump trucks, then find him books that feature dump trucks, and he'll be more interested, and more likely to read!

The blazer trend is huge right now and neutral blazers are everywhere at the moment, from movie premieres to fashion shows, and it's not hard to see why. The tailoring is flattering, and the colours are just light enough to add a touch of femininity and class. They are an effortless way to update a look and every big designer is making some. Here are my favorites…

1. Gap Heavy Jersey Blazer

Price: $76 at asos.com
Gap's classy yet cute take on this look is one of my favourites. Whether you are relaxing in jeans or dressing up a cute dress, the crop sleeves, buttons, deep neckline and folded collar make a very classic jacket which looks divine. Don’t forget to carry a hot bag with it! I've already ordered mine!

2. Mango Tailored Blazer

Price: $93 at asos.com
This crisp white blazer is perfect for Spring, as it's made of cotton and is very lightweight! The simple design is flattering and stylish, and it's the perfect jacket to team with a suit or jeans or even a cute floral dress as it adds instant glamour to every outfit. And Mango clothes are always high quality, so you know it will last too!

3. Minimum Relaxed Blazer

Price: $136 at asos.com
This is a very chic take on neutral blazers, with a masculine slouchy look edited to be super flattering, and a unique light blue colour! It really makes white pop, so looks gorgeous with white dresses, but looks great with denim too. It's a dreamy jacket if you are brave enough to wear it!

I've got boxes and boxes of photos, from pictures of my kids when they were small, to pictures of my boyfriend and I at Michigan football games. Over one entire weekend, I sorted them and put them in albums… but what to do with the photos I wanted to display? Just put them in frames and put them on the bookcase? I wanted something different, and I found the perfect solution at Pier 1.

Price: $28.00 at pier1.com
I love this frame! It mounts on the wall, and matches just about any décor (including mine). The frame is a weathered black wood with nine tiny clothes-pin clips. The clips are moveable on the thin wires, so you can display photos of any size in any way you'd like. I chose black and white photos, but you could just as easily choose color. The frame is sturdy and large, measuring about a foot and a half on each side. It's unique — I haven't seen anything else like it anywhere — and I am always getting compliments on it! So if you're looking for an interesting, unique way to display photos, take a few of you snaps to Pier 1 and see what you think! You might end up taking one, or maybe even two, of these home!
