Ah, Mother’s Day, the one day a year dedicted to showing your mum just how much you appreciate everything she’s ever done, and continues to do, for you! You’ve found the perfect card from Kati’s list, but now what about a gift? It must be thoughtful, sweet, fabulous, and of course, better than what your sister gets her! Not sure what to get? Here’s my list of a few things your mum is bound to love this Mother’s Day…

1. “My mother, my friend” necklace

Price: $59.95 at gifts.redenvelope.com
When I was a surly, wretched teenager, I was nearly allergic to my mother, and now, she’s my best friend. Her tastes are understated, elegant, and simple, so this necklace would be an ideal gift. She’s so much more than just my mom… and this is such a great way to let her know on Mother’s Day!

2. Languages of mom necklace

Price: $59.95 at gifts.redenvelope.com
What better way to tell mom you love her, than to just tell her? Choose from one of three languages (French, Italian, and Spanish) and let her know with this pretty necklace?

3. Mother and child necklace

Price: $69.95 at gifts.redenvelope.com
No more necklaces, I promise! But this last one is just too lovely to pass on. It features the Chinese characters for “mother” and either “daughter” or “son” etched in mother-of-pearl, with the English translation in sterling silver underneath. What a sweet Mother’s Day gift!

2. ~H2O+ Sea Results UV+ Maximum Moisture Fluid SPF 30

Price: $30.00 at h2oplus.com
Keep that normal skin perfect for as long as you can! Protect it from premature aging, sun damage and age spots with this little miracle.

With the World Cup fast approaching, the footie fans are out in force… but what does that mean for us ladies? An influx of sexy men in shorts, that's what! Here are the hotties to keep your eyes out for while you are watching the game…

1. Christiano Ronaldo

Playing for Portugal, Ronaldo has made no secret of the fact that he likes to take care of himself, and the women certainly appreciate it! He's the face of several men's fashion brands, and after that advert of him in his underwear, there has even been a statue erected of him in his home town. And if he scores, you might even get a glimpse of that to-die-for chest…

2. Wayne Rooney

England's strike force, while Wayne might not be every woman's ideal man, he certainly is a sweetheart. He's recently had a baby with wife Colleen, and admits to spoiling her and being very hands on with his son. He's also been spending a lot of time in the gym, and has some very nice legs to show for it…

3. Messi

My best friend’s room is devoted to this man… There is just something about his hair and accent that drives her wild. He'll be leading the Argentina squad to victory (or at least trying!) so if he does it for you, make sure you check out their pre-match interviews…

We all know to maintain a healthy weight, have more energy, and keep a happy heart, we need to exercise for twenty minutes, at least three times a week. But with work, school, homework, family, and friends, how can you find the time? You have to MAKE time, and here's how!

1. Wake up and go

Experts recommend exercising first thing in the morning, before the day gets too hectic or before you feel tired and worn out.

2. Does your work have a gym?

A lot of places of employment have a gym on site, so their employees can work out while on lunch or before or after work. If they don't have a gym, they might have a walking club. Look into it!

3. Find the right gym

Is it close to home, school, or work? Do they have hours that work with your schedule? Be sure to think of these things when choosing a gym to join.

4. Work out at school

If you're in college or high school, Phys Ed may be a requirement anyway. If so, this one hour a few times a week may be all you need!

Spring is the perfect time of year to celebrate your love with the love of your life. Has the passionate, burning fire between you and your lover died down to a few barely glowing embers? Are you tired of the same old, "Let's go out to eat and then watch a movie" date? Then read on for some super fun, super outrageous, and absolutely awesome date ideas!

1. Surprise lunch

Plan a stroll in the park, and somewhere along the way, you stumble upon a picnic basket! Make a big deal about, laugh about how funny it would be to actually eat someone else's lunch, then proceed to open the basket, and enjoy the food. Your guy might be freaking out until he learns you (or a good friend) planted the basket earlier!

2. Pretend you are newlyweds again

Rent the honeymoon suite at a local hotel. Even if it's only for one night, your mate will remember this! Arrange for a baby sitter, pack your bags, and surprise your honey when he gets home for the night! He'll love it, and so will you!

3. Go for a midnight stroll

Star gaze together. If the evening is cool, make some hot chocolate and put it in a thermos to take with you. Grab a blanket and head outside on a clear night. Maybe your backyard, or if you are really adventurous, the local park!

I have lots of friends who are professional photographers, and I assist at weddings on occasion for one of them. She's always been fantastic at sharing tips and advice, and I've noticed that now that I've started as her semi-apprentice, even the shots of my kids and cat have gotten better. What are her secrets? Don't let on that I've told you, but here are her tips for taking great photos… shh!

1. Invest in a good camera (like the Canon Rebel XSi)

Price: $559.95 at amazon.com
Most of the time, it's not the photographer or subject at fault for the less-than-perfect photos, it's the camera. Even pocket-sized digital cameras can be good enough for daily use, if they have a fast enough shutter speed and a good flash. Plan to spend about $500 on a camera, and stick to brands like Canon or Nikon, and you'll be sure to get a good camera.

2. Invest in a good flash (like the Canon Speedlite 430EX II)

Price: $280.00 at amazon.com
Ah, the flash. It can either make red eyes, or make your subjects look washed out. That's the mark of a bad flash, so if you plan to take a lot of photo, and you want them to look great, then invest in a good flash. Plan to spend about $300 and you'll get a good flash, one that doesn't focus the flash on one tiny spot, or make your subjects look bright white.

3. Get down for kids!

If you're taking photos of kids, get down to their level, either by sitting or kneeling or lying on the ground. Otherwise, you'll end up with a lot of photos of the tops of children's heads, and you'll miss those precious facial expressions. This trick also works when you're taking photos of cars, for some reason.

1. Julia Louis-Dreyfus is a Good Sport

Having a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame is a great thing for celebrities. Julia Louis-Dreyfus got hers yesterday but her name was spelled Julia Luis. Can you imagine how embarrassing that is? But she actually found it funny and didn’t want the name changed.

2. Cupcake Shaped Like Vajayjay

Would you eat these? The colors are kinda fun but I don’t think I’ll put those inside my mouth.

3. Fashion No-Nos

Even if you look like a smokin’ hot Guess model in your wet white tee photo, never ever email it to your boyfriend. You don’t know where it might end up.

4. Betty White for SNL

How excited are ya? She will rock the house, I tell you. Here are some video teasers.

5. Personal Style

Here is Natasha Ghosn explaining her personal style. How quirky is she? She sounds like a great girl to shop fun stuff with.

This mascara from Max Factor has been highly acclaimed by those in the fashion industry. We tested it out to see what all the hype if about…
Type of Mascara: Volumising
Colours Available: Rich Black, Soft Black, Black Brown & Auburn
Price Range: Cheap

Product Claims:

Selected as the Official Mascara of Milan Fashion Week, this superb formula delivers high definition and volume without clumping. Our innovative iFX brush coats every lash, giving you beautiful results.

My Experience:

I'd heard a lot about this mascara so I couldn't wait to see what it could do for my lackluster lashes! I immediately fell in love with the rubber bristle brush and everything about it screamed 'professional'! On application, the brush glided through my lashes coating them evenly with a nice layer of rich brown formula, it was the perfect hue to set off my complexion. I found it increased volume considerably but not to the same level as some other brands. It was enough volume for me but perhaps not dramatic enough for some woman. I think this is a very good quality mascara and I plan to use it again in future.

Overall Rating: Excellent

Price: $7.99 at amazon.com
If you've tried this product, did you like the results achieved or did you think it was over-rated?
