If you think you might be pregnant, you want to know right away, and you want to know for certain. The best test is a blood test, which your doctor or someone at Planned Parenthood can do. But what if it' the weekend, or the middle of the night, and you just can't wait anymore? What are the best, most effective, accurate, and easiest pregnancy tests you can do right now, at home? Here they are:

1. Accuclear

This brand offers the largest tip, which is a big deal, if you've ever tried to pee on one of those tiny little tips from another brand. AccuClear also has a very simple one step process, and you can use it any time of day (some tests are only accurate if you use them first thing in the morning).

2. Answer

With this one, you can get early results, up to five days before you even miss your period! I like this one because there are two tests in each box, so if you're not sure about the first result, or you think you may have done something wrong, you can do it again.

3. Clearblue Easy

This one turns a bright, easy-to-see pink if you're pregnant. You can test up to four days before you even miss your period and get accurate results.

Nail colour is the easiest and cheapest way of updating your look, and this Spring, there has been huge emphasis on nails. They aren't the long and red style that usually decorate the catwalk, though, with designers leaning towards a much more natural, polished look. Here are my top ten tips for getting the look…

1. Topcoat

asos.com
Using a top coat, such as this one, makes your nails look instantly glossier and healthier. It always makes them less likely to chip, as the colour is more protected. What's not to love?! Just make sure your colour is properly dry before you apply it…

2. Nail File

asos.com
To get professional results, you need professional tools, such as a glass nail file. The glass is gentle, which prevents cracking and splitting, and ensures you get no rough edges. It also works a lot faster, and is easier to transport as it won't attract dust and dirt.

3. Nail Strengthener

asos.com
Nail strengthener is a great secret weapon! I love this one by OPI. Apply it once a week to banish weak and brittle nails, and to make them look generally more healthy. If it doesn't work, you might have a calcium deficiency, or have hereditary weak nails, so make a GPs appointment to get checked over.

We spend so much time in our cars, not just driving, but stuck in traffic, too. Chances are, at one time or another, out of need or boredom, you've searched through your glove-box. Aside from the car's owner's manual and a stale granola bar and set of matches, what did you find? Is there ever a Kleenex in there when you need one? Here's a list of things you ought to add to your glove-box for safety and more…

1. Red Cross Vintage-Style First Aid Kit

Price: $12.95 at redcrossstore.org
This is one of those things that you'll never miss until you need it! Paper cuts, minor bumps, you name it, it can happen in the car or anywhere you've just driven. Keep this handy, and retro-cool, first-aid kit in your glove-box and you'll be prepared for all kinds of minor injuries!

2. Sani Hands Instant Hand Sanitizing Wipes

Price: $3.99 at drugstore.com
I can't count how many times I've gone for a day of shopping then stopped for a bite to eat on the way home and wished I had some way to wash my hands! I usually keep hand sanitizer in my handbag, but wouldn't some hand wipes be nice?

3. Kleenex Juniors Facial Tissue

Price: $1.59 at drugstore.com
Ah-CHOO! An unexpected sneeze in the car can leave you frantically digging for a tissue (or even a stiff, scratchy fast-food napkin!) while you're trying to keep your eyes on the road. Keep a packet of these in the glove-box, and you'll never have to deal with that hassle again!

Many of us have experienced dark circles under our eyes. They make us look lethargic and ill. They are difficult to conceal and even harder to get rid of. There are many factors that cause this skin discolouration – some of which are unavoidable such as age or illness.
However there are many ways to prevent them too. If you are tired of looking tired, read on to identify what could be causing the dark circles and what you can do to prevent them!

1. Identify allergens …

Skin discolouration under the eyes is commonly caused by allergies. If this is the problem you need to work out what is causing the allergy and remove it from your environment.
If it is seasonal there are medications you can take to reduce the symptoms. If you are struggling to work out the root of your problem, make an appointment with a dermatologist to access what could be causing your allergic reaction.
Read about other health conditions that cause under-eye circles in 4 Things That Cause Your Under Eye Dark Circles and Puffiness …

2. Get a good night's sleep every night …

This is the most obvious common cause of dark circles. We need 7-9 hours sleep each night. Insufficient sleep causes the skin to become paler as it reduces circulation, increasing darkness under the eyes.

3. Treat your eyes to a home-made spa treatment …

Lie down and apply cool tea-bags or cucumber slices to your eyes for 10 minutes each morning. The tannin in tea reduces discolouration and the cucumber reduces puffiness, so these treatments refresh the skin around your eyes preventing darkness.  Check out Get Rid of Dark Under Eye Circles Right in the Comfort of Your Own Home for more details.

4. Invest in a vitamin-rich eye cream …

Selecting an eye cream can be confusing when there are so many on the market to choose from, the key is to look for one containing vitamin K and retinol. These two ingredients have been proven to reduce dark circles considerably.
Avoid creams containing a lot of harsh chemicals and look for products using natural ingredients such as honey, avocado, jojoba oil and Shea butter.

5. Eat a healthy, balanced diet and drink lots of water …

It really is the best answer to all overall good health and appearance. Vitamin deficiencies play havoc with our skin and dark circles can be caused by lack of vitamin K or B12. Eat a good range of fruit and vegetables, sticking to the freshest you can find.

6. Drink water by the gallon …

You've heard it all before but it really is essential to our bodies. If you aren't getting enough water your body will show a number of tell-tale signs. One of which is dark circles.

Articles on nail polish invariably advise pale colours to wear with your summer outfits. I don't agree. Why stick to insipid pastels when there are so many fabulous bright colours? Here are some…

1. NYX Purple Glitter

Price: $1.99 at nonpareilboutique.com
I adore purple. Especially purple nail polish. If it's glittery, even better. Wear it during the day, don't save it for night! Be bold and sparkle …

2. Wet n Wild Caribbean Frost

Price: $1.29 at drugstore.com
This green is absolutely stunning. And what a bargain, at little more than a dollar! At this price you could change your nail polish as often as you change your socks (although changing your socks is a bit quicker).

3. Covergirl Queen Collection in Rhythmic Blue

Price: $3.19 at drugstore.com
This unusual shade of blue is like a very deep aqua. The polish comes with an added bonus, as it is a 3-in-1 product. So you get base colour and topcoat in one little bottle, making it timesaving and perfect for trips.

Prom season is just around the corner, and while you might have the perfect dress, maybe you haven’t gotten your date yet! Well, why not do it now? Here are some ideas on how to ask someone for a date to the prom… these would work just as well for a guy as they would a girl!

10. A stuffed animal

Giving your potential prom date a stuffed animal with a poem or song attached to the collar is a good idea. If you love singing and you know you are good at it, then you could even put a recording of you in there singing a song. Tell your potential date that you would love to dance with them at the prom to that song.

9. Mmm… cookies!

You probably know what his/her favorite baked good is. If your potential date cannot get enough peanut butter cookies or some other sweet, then bake it for them! Package it with something that has a prom theme. Make cutout dresses or tuxedos for the wrapping. Don't forget to include that special note in there…

8. Gumballs, anyone?

Do you know those cheap, plastic gumball machines? Yeah, you can find those anywhere. Obviously, try to find toys that you think your potential date would like. Buy several of them to put in a bag. Before you put them in the bag, pop open those plastic bubbles and put some notes with reasons as to why they should go to the prom with you. I think this one is cute.

Can a girl ever have enough clutches? If you answered yes, maybe you should go away *wink* If you answered no, this one is for you! Presenting the simple yet beautiful sophistication of the Bottega Veneta Intrec Capretto Knot Clutch in Black. If this one doesn’t blow your mind away, I don’t know what will.

What’s So Fab about It: Like all things Bottega Veneta, this clutch is classic, yet effortlessly modern. Of course there’s their signature woven leather that I always find so intriguing. And like icing on the cake, the cute knot at the top just takes it to a whole new level and makes it the perfect way to spruce up a slightly boring outfit.
Where Would I Wear It: Now I know that most straight men know squat about clutches, but something tells me that carrying this Bottega Veneta beauty on a date is going to add oodles to my self-confidence, and that in turn will ensure that my date goes perfectly!
How Many Tall Lattes It’s Worth: 527
Where to Look 4 It: barneys.com
The Bottega Veneta Intrec Capretto Knot Clutch is one case where black is definitely not boring! What do you think?

What to know what perfumes to have on your drawer this season? Maria of Beauty is Within is here to help us. I don’t know about you  but the packaging alone of these perfumes is too pretty to ignore. Thanks, Maria!

Walk into any Sephora store or department store fragrance counter, and you’ll be met with a dizzying array of eau de toilettes and perfumes all lined up just waiting for you to try them out.  As a lover of “smell goods”, I can’t help but sample everything.  Only until after I’ve walked out of the store do I regret spraying myself with dozens of scents because I feel like a walking perfume store…
Every spring I try a few new scents, and although I tend to go for sweet smells, this year I’ve been wearing perfumes according to my mood.  Here are my 5 favorite fun and flirty perfumes for spring:

1.  Baby Phat’s “Dare Me”

Baby-Phat-Dare-Me
I love, love, love this scent.  It’s one part fruity and one part flirty.  One spray and you’re transformed into pure sexiness.  Notes include magnolia, coconut, honeysuckle, white milkwood, red vanilla orchid, creme de musk, and sandalwood.  This is the fifth fragrance by Kimora Lee Simmons and the Baby Phat team.

2.  Flirt! Rock-N-Rebel

flirt-rock-n-rebel
This is a playful and fruity new fragrance that will bring out the edgy, but girly, independent side of you.  I especially love the design on the bottle.  Notes include apple nectar, lotus blossom, and pink grapefruit.

3.  Donna Karan Cashmere Mist

Donna-Karan-Cashmere-Mist
If you want to capture the essence of luxury in a bottle, this is the scent for you. Seduce your senses with notes of Lily of the Valley, suede notes, bergamot, ylang, jasmine maroc, sandalwood, orris, amber, vanilla, cedarwood, patchouli, and musk.  I like to wear this parfum for a night on the town.

4.  DKNY – Be Delicious

DKNY-Be-Delicious
I was first attracted to Be Delicious because of the brightly colored apple design of the bottle – and it smells just how it looks!  Notes includelavanila-grapefuit-vanilla American Apple, cucumber, grapefruit, candid magnolia, tuberose, white muguet, rose, violet, sandalwood, tender skin accord, blonde woods, and white amber.

5.  LAVANILA – Vanilla Grapefruit

This is a fresh, unique scent that is absolutely luscious.  What I like about all of Lavanila’s products is that they use essential oils, plus they’re infused with 30 vitamins and 19 amino acids.  Notes include grapefruit, bergamot, lime, orange, cedarwood, heliotrope, and madagascar vanilla

Did you know that there is a way for you to eat healthy and save a lot of moolah on your food expenses? With the recession problems that we have been facing (or hopefully faced), we’ve all realized that we can always use the savings that we can get from every source – even eating healthy yet inexpensive food items.
So instead of spending your hard-earned bucks for gas to travel to and from the restaurant when dining out – not to mention the bill for mostly unhealthy restaurant food – here’s a list of the cheapest healthy foods that you can serve on your very own kitchen.

1. Eggs

eggs.jpg
Whether you are looking for something to serve for breakfast, lunch or dinner, eggs are cheap and extremely versatile. They’re also a great protein source which helps stave off eye problems as you get old.

2. Potatoes

potatoes.jpg
Dirt-cheap potatoes have a negative image when cooked in oil-rich fries or fattening chips. But when they are incorporated in healthy recipes like potato salad – they’re really healthy, versatile and inexpensive.

3. Bananas

banana.jpg
Bananas can be eaten as is, or they can be combined with your favorite breakfast cereals. Aside from being really affordable, bananas are rich in potassium and fiber – giving you the daily dose of nutrients from fruits that you need to stay healthy.

4. Whole Grain Pasta

pasta1.jpg
This is another staple food item for all the cheapskates out there (j/k). There’s a whole lotta dishes that you can do with whole grain pasta, they’re a great protein and vitamin B-source – and they’re really tasty, too!

5. Beets

beet.jpg
Aside from having a unique taste and color, beets are power-packed with iron, folate and antioxidants.
Yey! So I’ll add these really healthy food items to my grocery list to save a few extra bucks – to buy that really fab bag which I saw online! Lol…
