UPdate Salon for Photography & Film : Rolf Scheider presents the German creative weekend in Frankfurt - spot on !

Following dates in Berlin and Hamburg, the UPdate – Salon for Photography and Film’s latest event was held in Frankfurt. The location of choice was the stunning Palais im Zoo, which is nestled in picturesque grounds between orange and olive trees. Telemaz Commercials : play with mirrors for the OTTO 'Mirror' spot and win the Silver World Medal at the New York Television & Film Awards for their A.LANGE & SÖHNE spot

Even a volcano eruption and the closed off airspace couldn’t hold back the Telemaz Commercials Hamburg team from travelling to Bilbao to produce the current OTTO ‘Mirror’ spot. The results are elegant reflected motifs with plenty of sun, architecture and fashion.

Telemaz Berlin also won a Silver World Meal at this year’s New York Television & Film Awards 2010, in the Sales category, for their spot for A.LANGE & SÖHNE watches, titled ‘No Magic – Incomparable Handwork’.

INFINITI with the new G 37 Coupé : in search of Gattaca - Frank Kayser's spot for the car brand here on GoSee

Photographer and director Frank, and his team travelled to Valencia to stage the story of a car chase. The focus of the shoot was the new INFINITI G 37 Coupé.

Genius architect Santiago Calatrava’s futuristic buildings of Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias in Valencia, which translates into the City of Arts and Science, provided the ideal setting for the photos and video.

Dutch director Marco Grandia began his career with skateboard, snowboard and surf videos and travelled the whole world to shoot his extreme sports and travel footage. Over the past 12 years, he has directed both music videos and various commercial spots. His signature style is the realistic touch he adds to spots.

Director Vaughan Arnnell’s ‘Rock DJ’ video for Robbie Williams was just voted third best music video of all times. This is truly a sign of hope in a day and age where people are afraid of polarising. His other video and advertising projects are also statements; both visually and in terms of content.

Mainworks : The Joy of Seeing - up in the mountains with the BMW X1

‘The joy of seeing’ was the motto for David Maurer & Mainworks when it came to shooting the X1 in the Swiss Alps. David shot the backgrounds for the latest member of the BMW - SUV- family member in and around Andermatt. Mainworks took charge of the visualisation of the X1 using CGI with the added help of David Maurer’s supervision.

Sock Horror - Join The Cult : Burlington go voodoo with their Football Limited Edition - watch the spot here on GoSee

With just a few more weeks to go until the World Cup, everyone has caught football fever, including BURLINGTON. Or the Burlington sock puppets to be precise. And the little stinkers have adopted a voodoo approach to getting all of their opponents out of the way. A perfect occasion for a mini horror flick: ‘Sock Horror – Join the Cult’. A Burlington spot seemingly inspired by the cute fluffy animals of Pet Cemetery – whoops sorry, no make that Sock Cemetery – the one with the cute fluffy socks.

Web killed the Video killed the Radio Star ... Keith Schofield presents DIESEL Safe For Work Porn and other Spot Highlights at Direction Lounge

The Direction Lounge presented Keith Schofield, American director of renowned music videos and TV commercials. As a representative of the young movement of music video directors, he explored his creativity in videos for Justice, Fatboy Slim and Supergrass, which have a particularly large Internet fan base.

In an interview, he advised young directors to specifically produce videos for the Internet, as this offers greater creative freedom than the restrictions of what can be shown on television.

'Le bel été' - Stéphanie Di Gusto captures actress Lou Doillon on film in Vanessa Bruno Spring/Summer 2010

This coming summer will not just be a very pleasant welcome to the prolonged chilly months but also very French. ‘Le bel été’ dances in our heads, gets our toes tapping and can and has to be a bit melancholic. When model and actress Lou Doillon flutters through the room in tune to the piano notes of Gonzalez, designer Vanessa Bruno has brought a new collection to life.

This fashion film was directed by Stéphanie Di Gusto, who has to date captured several of the designer’s collections as video installations and animated look books.

Dream a little Dace with me! the Canadian fashion label's Autumn / Winter 2010 look book video

Vancouver goes by the nickname of ‘Hollywood North’, has a breathtaking skyline and Dace Moore. Since 2002, the designer has been creating clean collections favoured by Parisian city girls. Besides little coats and flowing tops, the collections are particularly renowned for their dedication to the moving image. Each collection tells a story, which Dace presents in a dreamlike look book video.
