One of the best (and worst) parts about working at WhoWhatWear.com is the fact that we constantly find fabulous stuff we want to share: a model, a book on manners, even a must-buy beauty product. While we get to include some of these of-the-moment obsessions in our daily trend reports and style stories, occasionally we simply don't have enough space to showcase them all. In the hopes of correcting that issue, today we're very excited to present our inaugural installment of
WWW Hearts. It's an ode to all the things we love; hopefully you will adore them too!
Victorialand Panel Box Jacket ($416)
The little white jacket is a warm-weather necessity, but rather than just recommending a solid option, we'd like to draw your attention to this great graphic option from the new line Victorialand. The crisp blazer has a Givenchy-like look and is sure to perk up your transitional-weather staples nicely. Aside from this single piece, we suggest getting familiar with the entire label, as designer Kate Wendelborn has created a concise collection of menswear-inspired necessities.
Balenciaga Eau de Parfum ($95)
This is the first perfume from Balenciaga designer Nicholas Ghesquiere for the French fashion house and it's certainly a remarkable achievement. While we can't tell you if you'll love the fragrance—your nose knows what it likes—but the violet-based scent is certainly original. Either way, we certainly love the gorgeous bottle, the Stephen Meisel-shot campaign, and the face of the fragrance: Charlotte Gainsbourg.
Chloe Louise Satchel ($1995)
As Chloe handbag devotees, we rarely get through a season without forking over a significant portion of our paycheck to the French fashion house. It's impossible to resist splurging on bags like this sleek satchel; it's ladylike without being fussy and definitely is a new classic. Plus, it's way less expensive than a similarly understated Celine bag—hooray!
New Face: Tati Cotliar
Argentine model Tati Cotliar burst onto the scene during New York Fashion Week when she opened Marc Jacobs' F/W 10 show in February and frankly, we're thrilled. A favorite of designers like Jason Wu (she served as his S/S 10 muse) and Vivienne Westwood (Cotliar stars in her current ad campaign), this brunette beauty's coolly disheveled, chocolate-colored hair looks so modern, we can barely stand it. It's almost enough to make us shirk bleach and get back to our roots—almost.
Oscar de la Renta Spring Beauty Look
In addition to a flat-out gorgeous collection, the entire beauty aspect of Oscar de la Renta's S/S 10 show was simply spot-on. We're swooning for the bold brows, the cat-eye liner, and the ribbon-embellished braids. We heard that the look, which was created by the supremely talented Gucci Westman and Orlando Pita, was inspired by a photograph of
Vogue's Grace Coddington from her modeling days. Whatever the backstory, the results are impressive; this is one strong combo we're definitely going to try.
Revlon Scents of Summer Nail Enamel ($5)
These scented nail lacquers landed on Hillary's desk recently and then disappeared as suddenly as they appeared. After much inquiry, it turns out that the nail-polish nabbers were none other than the entire Who What Wear staff! Not to encourage such behavior, but we've found that when editors "borrow" products, that's usually a good sign that the beauty item is a must-buy. We really love the green and blue hues (Beach and Ocean Breeze, respectively) but you should check out all eight limited-edition scented shades yourself!
3.1 Phillip Lim Mesh Trim Bra + Cheeky Briefs ($150)
Honestly, it's like Phillip Lim can do no wrong. Not only does the man design consistently covetable collections, now he's make spot-on, stylish small things! There's something so yummy about the sweet buttercup color of this silk-blend lingerie; it's so pretty that putting it on in the morning just might make the day manageable. One thing's for sure: we haven't been this excited about bras since we were in sixth grade...sigh.
TEXTILE Elizabeth and James Jimi Jeans ($245)
Elizabeth and James—one of our favorite lines—recently debuted their inaugural collection of jeans and we couldn't be more excited by this development. Of the first three styles to hit stores, the bootcut Jimi captured our hearts immediately, thanks to its mid-blue hue and dark-patch details on the back pockets. Not quite to your taste? Don't miss the equally darling cropped
Joni Jeans ($235) and the flared
Stevie Patch Jeans ($245), both excellent vintage-inspired options!
Jenni Kayne 3 Strap Flat Sandals ($350)
One look at these beautiful bone leather and snakeskin sandals and we knew we had to include them in our first
WWW Hearts story. Designed by Jenni Kayne—another staff favorite—these three strap slip-ons are subtle enough to wear with just about anything. Use them to elevate your beachy basics or bring a more casual vibe to a fancier frock, the shoes are a perfect pick for spring and summer. (Oh, and Katherine's got a crush on them!)
Classy: Exceptional Advice for the Extremely Modern Lady ($17) by Derek Blasberg
Hopefully you already have a copy of
Who What Wear: Celebrity and Runway Style for Real Life , so now we can recommend another entertaining essential for your bookshelf:
Classy. Written by the infinitely amusing Derek Blasberg, who is known for his witty fashion and party reportage for Style.com, this darling handbook details how one should navigate the treacherous (and tempting) world we live in. With chapters detailing the best practices in a wide variety of situations—like how to make educated insults, identify a good boy/bad boy, and avoid dressing like a tramp—it's a must-buy for social butterflies and wallflowers alike. Consider it the
Miss Manners for the twenty-first century fashionable female: we sure do.
Fenton/Fallon for J.Crew Carrington Chain Bracelet ($95)
J.Crew is really bringing their A-game to their recent collaborations. Unlike most major brands, they're offering a range of partnership-inspired products from a number of different designers as part of their In Good Company program. Everyone from Essie to Ray-Ban is participating and turning out fabulous items, but we must confess to having a particular soft spot for the pieces made by Dana Lorenz, the designer of cult jewelry lines Fenton and Fallon. Take this Carrington Chain Bracelet for example; it has just the right mix of tender and tough, but the price tag is what really got us! Not only does it make for a perfect present, but it also will give any wrist the look of some of Fenton's pricier pieces, like the
Virgin Bracelet ($448), in a very affordable way.
