Posted: 26 Apr 2010 11:40 AM PDT 1154 LILL, you can do just that. The perfect bag is just a few clicks away… I love visiting the ice-cream parlour, playing mix and match with the different flavors, trying different toppings, placing that big red cherry at the top of it all. In that moment, when I reach over to grab my sundae, I feel like an artist! And sometimes, when I browse through hundreds of handbags unsuccessfully, I wish I could do the same… create my own perfect, one-of-a-kind handbag! And now with 1154 LILL adds that extra dose of fun in handbag shopping by letting you create your own masterpiece. You can choose from over 35 styles that include totes, everyday bags, travel bags, even bridal purses! Once you’ve picked your style, pick a fabric from over 150 designer textiles for the exterior, interior lining, pockets and straps. When you’re happy with your design, 1154 LILL will individually tailor your one-of-a-kind bag right here in the USA and ship it to your doorstep. Of course, I have to share my ten favorite, self-created designs. Here they are: 1. BriannaThis may just be the perfect little slouchy bag for spring! So of course, I kept it simple with a vibrant turquoise that I could carry everywhere and with everything. If I’m feeling a little more adventurous, all I have to do is flip the bag over and voila, it’s almost like I have a new bag! Price: $110 at 1154lill.com 2. DreaIf you’re like me, you’ll know that it’s completely normal to wake up one morning and feel like a girly girl and wake up another day, feeling like a sultry vixen. Here’s a bag that will perfectly compliment both your avatars! I love how can go design crazy with reversible bags… Price: $142.00 at 1154lill.com 3. ErinnSometimes a clutch is the the only accessory you need to spruce up an outfit. So how about this roomy, stylish, purple polka dotted masterpiece designed by yours truly :D Price: $96.00 at 1154lill.com |
Posted: 26 Apr 2010 10:42 AM PDT beauty treatments you just have to get done before you go out and face the world in your tiny bikini this summer… After a long period of hibernation, as women there are certain things we need to get done before we’re “beach ready.” Hair needs to be removed, skin needs to be exfoliated, feet need to be pampered. These are the1. PedicurePhoto Credit: ♥ honeybee photography ♥ With the change in weather the world is going to see a lot more of your feet. Whether you’re kickin’ it in flip flops or chilling out with toes buried in the sand, people are going to be seeing those heels and toes. Why not get them looking beautiful and eye catching before that happens? 2. TanningPhoto Credit: juju6969ca I know what you’re thinking, why tan yourself when the sun is going to be out all summer? Well, if you’re anything like me, then during the winter you develop what I like to call a case of the “pasty whites” and you’ll need a good base before going out into the real sunlight or you’ll burn like never before. Five minutes every other day for a month and you’ll be beautifully bronzed before you even take your first step in the sand. 3. WaxingPhoto Credit: From Nature With Love We all know what it’s like for women in the winter, we wear long pants and sometimes we go a few days without shaving our legs… for warmth of course. So by the time summer rolls around, certain areas need a little attention before you can go out and face the world. So go, wax those legs, underarms and bikini line then put on that bikini and lounge about for a bit. |
Posted: 26 Apr 2010 09:43 AM PDT Moving in with someone can cause all kinds of trouble, depending on who you are sharing with. I've been there and done that, and here are my top eight tips to make house sharing survivable… More people than ever are having to house share before getting themselves on the property ladder, but there is a reason that a famous philosopher once said that hell was other people! 1. Profiles…Photo Credit: classic perfection Before you move in, find out about the ages of people who live in the flat, or who will be living there. For example, is there an equal balance of sexes? And is the average age under twenty, in which case they might still be students, or under fifty, who probably won't appreciate late night partying? 2. Hobbies…Photo Credit: linda yvonne Once you've decided you are compatible in theory, it’s time to look into more details. Think about your everyday hobbies, and what others have stated. I once lived with someone who had a bird watching hobby. Pretty harmless, right? Wrong! If a website flagged up a bird that could be nearby, he would wake the whole flat loudly getting ready and leaving, and leave a huge mess tracking down his camera and bird books. Not to mention the huge strops! 3. House RulesPhoto Credit: e.kristina Read through the house rules. While it might not seem important, you might think otherwise when you discover that you have to clean seven times a week, take turns to hoover once an hour and that your work will be checked by “surprise” visits from the landlord at 3 a.m. Right! |
Posted: 26 Apr 2010 04:39 AM PDT make up products everyone will love… I love new make-up, and just recently there has been a huge rise in the amount of amazing new makeup products. From magical lotions and potions to gorgeous new make up colours and styles, I'm always hunting out the next best thing and seeing how good it really is, and here are my top 7 1. Murad Clarifying Cleaner GelPrice: $34 at asos.com I'm always wary of new cleaners and toners. After all, there are so many that surely they must all do about the same now? I was wrong, apparently! This new cleaner comes in a gorgeous squeezy bottle and is a thick gel which is easy to apply. It quickly penetrates skin, clears blemishes, fights spots and keeps skin clean and hydrated. A few days use really did make a difference to my skin! 2. Murad Body Firming CreamPrice: $52 at asos.com After being so impressed with the cleaner, I simply had to check out a few of their other products, including this firming cream. After all, with summer just around the corner, what woman isn't looking to tone up and look great?! The cream is thick and absorbs fast and left my skin feeling really moisturized and healthy. It was an hour later that I got my real shock, though. It really does firm skin and it looks great! I'll be applying this everyday in the run up to summer. Fabulous bikinis, here I come! 3. Murad Acne Complex KitPrice: $84 at asos.com Fortunatly, I don't suffer from nasty acne but I've got a lot of friends and a sister who do, so I thought I'd give my new favourite brand the chance to help them out. This kit arrived well packaged, and contains cleaner, skin perfecting cream, acne treatment gel and spot treatment. The bottles look very professional and the products smelt divine, but would they work? They do! Within days my sisters skin was looking much smoother and her acne really reduced. She was thrilled and is now a Murad convert. |
Posted: 26 Apr 2010 03:28 AM PDT 1. The Land of Nod Diaperista BagPrice: $80.00 at landofnod.com I would totally carry this as a handbag, even though it's a diaper bag! I could put in a bottle of water, instead of a baby bottle, and my checkbook instead of the diapers… **ahem** it's probably the most stylish diaper bag ever made, and it's perfect for any fashionista who happens to also be a mom-on-the-go! 2. Pottery Barn Kids Be Spicy Diaper BagPrice: $150.00 at potterybarnkids.com Be spicy, be prepared! This handy diaper bag comes in three great prints, and has a place for everything! Keep the things you need to have right at hand in one of the outside pouches, and zip everything else securely inside. 3. The Land of Nod Seize the Daisies Diaper BagPrice: $130.00 at landofnod.com Made by OiOi and imported just for your little one, the amenities of this bag will keep your little one as fresh as a daisy! I love the pretty retro print and the handy pocket on the side for mommy's cell phone. Tucked inside is a sizeable changing pad, wet bag, and wipes case, perfect for diaper changes while you're out and about. |
Posted: 26 Apr 2010 03:11 AM PDT Let's get our wallets out and get ready to accept more money as we move forward to 8 ways to mak more money… 8. Take on a part time jobPhoto Credit: *Peanut (Lauren) With a lot of the part time jobs, it will more than likely take two weeks before you get that first paycheck. When you are in need of cash sooner than this, look for some jobs that will give you money right away, like ones that give tips. Waiting tables and bar tending are two examples of this. 7. Rent your spot outPhoto Credit: extremeezine Do you own some parking real estate? If so, then you could get some money in your pocket and more exercise by renting that spot out and parking further away. How does this one sound to you? 6. Return those past purchasesPhoto Credit: Christian Lau Taking those recently purchases items that you found you do not want and have not been opened back to the store for cash is a good way to make fast cash. So, do you have anything sitting around your house unopened that you do not really need? Do you still have the receipt? Then return it! This is great if you are in dire need of cash right away! |
Posted: 26 Apr 2010 02:33 AM PDT 1. "The Sixth Sense"I admit it: I figured this one out early in the film. Bruce Willis plays a child psychologist working with a hollow-eyed, haunted Haley Joel Osment. Osment sees dead people, and Willis attempts to treat him. At first, of course, Willis doesn't believe the child, but as the film progresses, he does… and at the end, Willis realizes he's been dead all along… 2. "The Crying Game"I most definitely did NOT see this one coming! Stephen Rea is held hostage by a group of men, one of whom shares stories of his girlfriend, a woman he adores. The captor is killed in Rea's escape, and he feels he must look in on the girlfriend. Gradually he falls in love with her, and the first time they're intimate, he discovers that she's not a she at all… oddly, you still find yourself rooting for the couple… 3. "Seven""Seven" is a ghastly dark film, with stunningly real performances by Kevin Spacey, a crazed serial killer, Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt, detectives assigned to the case, and a delicate, sorrowful Gwenyth Paltrow, Pitt's wife. We all know that Spacey will be caught, just short of his seventh sin-inspired murder, but how will he complete his series? Then the FedEx truck pulls up with a package for Pitt… I didn't see this shock coming either… |
Posted: 26 Apr 2010 12:54 AM PDT 1. Diary of a Wimpy Kid series by Jeff KinneyBest for: Boys (of any age) Start with: Book One – Diary of a Wimpy Kid Price: $7.70 at amazon.com Reg is a typical junior high boy — he's tormented by his older brother, Rodney, and gets into minor trouble and school with his silly schemes. He does have his best friend, Rowley, and of course, his Diary. The simple stick-figure illustrations are hilarious and expressive, and you'll be swiping them from your tween boy as soon as he's done with them. 2. Captain Underpants series by Dav PilkeyBest for: Boys Start with: Book One – The Adventures of Captain Underpants Price: $7.15 at amazon.com A hero unlike any other, and he will have your tween boy laughing from the very first page. After all, what tween boy doesn't think the word "underpants" is hilarious? The premise is a little saucy (two boys hypnotize their school principal and turn him into the hero), but it's good, clean fun, replete with potty jokes. 3. Junie B. Jones series by Barbara ParkBest for: Girls Start with: Book One – Junie B. Jones and the Stupid Smelly Bus Price: $9.99 at amazon.com This series follows the everyday mishaps and adventures of a bright, silly little girl named Junie B. Jones. I love her cute little catch phrases, and her interesting phobias. For example, she's afraid of ponies because they can "stomple you into the ground" and (like me) she's afraid of clowns because "they are not normal people." Buy the first book for your tween daughter, and she'll immediately demand the rest… be prepared… there are nearly 30 of them! |
